His works have demonstrated strong performance in the auction market.
In 2005, Li Shu 'an was invited to hold a solo exhibition in Yokohama, Japan, where he received warm hospitality from the Yokohama City Culture Department and acclaim from Japanese audiences. A French director who attended the exhibition referred to him as an "anthropologist." Renowned art critic, curator, and Professor Zou Yuejin of the Central Academy of Fine Arts conducted extensive research on Li Shu' an's oil painting series titled "The Way of Man," publishing a specialized paper titled Tangible Abstraction and Its Meaning: Reflections on Li Shu' an's "The Way of Man" Series.
In Li Shu 'an's own words, "The 'way of human beings' aims to depict the behavior patterns of all people—those without distinctions of region, nationality, or ethnicity; whereas the individualization of character images, in terms of meaning, carries an individual significance that stands in opposition to the collective." A unique artistic sensibility and existence: When Li Shu 'an's series of oil paintings titled 'The Way of Human Beings' are placed on the contemporary platform of visual arts and compared with the artistic development trends of Chinese and foreign artists, it is evident that he has entered a new realm of artistic discourse. This is because Li Shu 'an's oil painting art possesses profound roots—namely, the modes of human existence, the collectivity of humanity, mutual interdependence among individuals, and the inseparable symbiosis between people. Furthermore, the aesthetic charm of Li Shu 'an's oil paintings is deeply intertwined with China's traditional aesthetics. As renowned contemporary artist Liu Xuguang noted, "Li Shu' an's creations transcend the physiological structural relationships of humans, raising questions within interpersonal group dynamics and presenting his own perspectives from both Eastern and Western aesthetic viewpoints. Within these complex and profound compositions lies a distinctive artistic sensibility and existence, further enriching reflections on aesthetic meaning.' The Way of Human Beings' offers us a profound contemplation of vision and a novel aesthetic perspective."(注:来自智能翻译)
