Li Ke was born in Taiwan in 1953. His parents hailed from Xiangcheng County, Henan Province, and Pingyuan County, Dezhou City, Shandong Province respectively, both coming from scholarly families and widely referred to by locals as the "Li Dashan Family." His grandfather, Li Shantang, was admitted to a government-funded scholarship program in the United States in 1917 and spent six years studying mining and geology at Colorado University of Mining and Technology and Columbia University. Upon returning to China, he served as president of Fuzhong Mining School (the predecessor of China University of Mining and Technology) and held several key positions in the government and foreign enterprises, including being a representative of the first National Assembly of the National Government. At a critical juncture of historical transformation, his grandfather sold ancestral assets to timely save Jiaozuo Institute of Technology (the predecessor of China University of Mining and Technology), preserving valuable resources and seeds for the development of China's mining, metallurgy, and petroleum industries. Following his grandfather's teachings, Li Ke resolved from a young age to emulate his father's spirit of dedicating knowledge to serving the nation. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University in 1976 and served in the Engineering Corps of the 319th Division Command of the Taiwanese Army from 1976 to 1978. In August 1978, he studied abroad in the United States, obtaining a Master's degree in Architectural Engineering from Ohio State University in 1980. Subsequently, he worked as a project engineer, project manager, and regional vice president at major construction and development firms ranked among the top three nationwide on the West Coast and in Washington D.C., with successful projects spanning San Francisco, Oakland, Concord, San Jose, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Washington, and Manhattan, New York. Later, he served as General Manager for both the U.S. and Taiwan regions at Taiwan's Taisi Group. Li Ke has maintained a close partnership with I.M. Pei Architect, Pei Partnership Architects, and The Pei Group since 1990, undertaking collaborative projects across the United States and the Asia-Pacific region.
Remain true to his original aspiration of serving the nation, Li Ke was invited in 2012 to serve as a senior advisor for the China Foundation for the Development of Elderly Affairs, introducing exemplary models for the development and operation of internationally advanced elderly care and wellness programs. Subsequently, in 2018, he organized a world-class international professional team to respond to China's Belt and Road Initiative, conducting preliminary work on several major technical cooperation projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia, including significant construction projects in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Myanmar. In 2019, Li Ke assumed the role of Entrepreneur Vice President at the Investment and Financing Professional Committee of the China Investment Association, assisting the Belt and Road Project Department in its development efforts. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, he helped royal family members conceptualize the Al Faisaliah Futuristic City project, spanning 2,450 square kilometers between the holy cities of Mecca and Jeddah, and brought in top French planning and design teams along with U.S. private equity firms and other elite corporate teams to complete preliminary feasibility studies, master planning schemes, and operational management plans. Li Ke and Prince Abdullah shared the vision of making this massive futuristic city project a key initiative bridging China's Belt and Road Initiative with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, fostering close cooperation, mutual benefit, and shared development between China and Saudi Arabia, establishing a comprehensive strategic partnership, and working together with countries worldwide sharing common ideals to advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and accelerate the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.(注:来自智能翻译)
