Niang Ben, male, of the Tu ethnic group, was born in February 1971 in Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. At the age of 12, he began studying under China's master of arts and crafts Xia Wucairang, becoming his most outstanding direct disciple.

In August 2006, he founded the first Thangka painting academy—the Re Gong Painting Academy in Huangnan Prefecture, Qinghai—and served as its director.

In December 2017, the Niangben Thangka Art Museum was established outside Chongwenmen in Beijing, where I served as director; in December 2018, the Re Gong Niangben Thangka Art Museum was founded in Jimo Ancient City, also with me serving as director.

In July 2008, to celebrate Beijing's successful hosting of the 29th Olympic Games, three Thangka paintings depicting the Fuwa mascots were created and presented to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympics, where they were subsequently collected by the committee. In August 2008, during the Olympic–Chinese National Art Treasures Ethnic Culture Festival, the work "Amitabha Buddha's Pure Land" was recognized as one of the first batch of "Chinese National Art Treasures."

In September 2009, two thangkas— "Princess Wencheng's Journey to Tibet," which embodies the great unity between Tibetan and Han ethnic groups, and "The Founding Ceremony," depicting China's prosperous era during its founding"—were created and donated as state gifts to the General Office of the State Council. Through long-term artistic practice, Niang Ben has actively explored and boldly innovated while inheriting the traditional style of "Re Gong Art," drawing on the strengths of various schools. She incorporated elements such as the "Dunhuang Flying Apsaras" from Master Xia Wu Cai Rang's works and the color palette of Xizang Thangkas, integrating the gold application techniques of Re Gong Thangkas with Han Chinese meticulous painting methods. Gradually, she developed her own unique Thangka art style, becoming one of the most representative figures during the transitional phase of Re Gong Thangka art.(注:来自智能翻译)
